I just had a stock IX block built with a stroker crank only. It was more expensive than this route (and believe me I wanted to). But the deciding factor came down to the knock sensor. Knock sensors and calibration are finely tuned to a particular block. So even if I found the 4G64 with the correct sensor bung, there's no garantee that my stock ECU (even while tuned) will detect knock as intended. It will probably detect it but who knows at what level of intensity or if it will detect false knock. As for me, I do a lot of road tuning and rely heavily on the knock sensor. Any way, what works for me isnt what works for me but I thought this issue is worth pointing out.

To get the cam timing right you have to degree the cams and then once you know the error , you fix the error the easiest cheapest way by using an offset pulley on the tension side.

That's how it's done with RB30/ RB25 strokers and that's how it's done with the various combinations of mitsi 6G strokers.

I had 0 issues tuning my car on my stock ecu on my 2.4 before I went haltech with my knock sensor. All you do is adjust the sensitivity of the knock sensor till it knocks and back it off.

Or just use a 2.4 timing belt and you don't have to degree anything.

Thats whats currently on my car. Technically your running a 2.4 engine why would it change anything being there is a dohc head on it? When I do the timing it is straight up just like you would do on a 2 liter.

Has anyone tried Manley pistons on their 4G64 2.4LR build? I am looking at the 608020c-4 Manley pistons. What kind of HP/TQ did you run with them?

I am new to this forum, and forums in general, so I apologize in advanced. I own a 1994 Mitsubishi Mighty Max with a 4g64, and I would like to build it has my first project car. I would like to get 400hp out of it possible. I know that is a lot of power for a 2200LB truck, but that is the fun! I am struggle to find information on what it takes to build Mitsubishi vehicles in general (I spoiled myself with chevy motors early on in my life). I going to be honest I hoping for some suggestions/guidance.
