Unhappy HELP! went from 4th to 3rd

so last night i did a pull and as i went to shift into 5th on of the under hood shifter bushings fell out casing me to go back into 3rd

the car seemed to run fine after, but is there any way to check the valves to see if any are bent/damaged without removing the head? also, what should i check to make sure everything is still running correctly? i'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to real mechanical work

leakdown test will usually tell you if you bent valves

you should be looking into why the bushings fell off though..they are held in with pins to secure them, there should be no way for them to fall off

will do and as far as the bushing falling out, i believe the retainer clip failed that was holding the two bushing together (AMS' design has 2 pieces that sandwich together)

If you bent a valve your car would essentially run like its on 3 cylinders or less, and be way down on power.. You mentioned none of these issues, your fine.

Yeah, do a cylinder leak down test and you will know if anything happened.

How high of an RPM did the engine get to before you pushed in the clutch?

3 valves in my engine were slightly bent but not enough for me to have any symptoms you described. So not having those symptoms doesn't necessarily mean the valves aren't bent.
