GReddy type S BOV limitations: RRE setup

I've included a pic of the GReddy type S from the RRE website. This is the one I am running. Although I haven't experimented with it, I'm assuming there is no way I can take out the smaller spring to improve driveability. I have cams, cam gears, full exhaust, xede.) I want the BOV to hold high boost without leaking.

My question: How much boost can this BOV hold when adjusted with BOTH springs in AND not stall?

It almost stalls now in stop and go setting and can be touchy on the freeway when letting off throttle but is bearable. I'm assuming you want to turn the adjustment towards "harder" until you begin to have slight problems with stalling and off throttle situations and then back the adjustment off until it is bearable. This setting should hold the most boost AND be drivalble, right? My big question: how much boost will it hold under such a situation with mods like mine that have added about 100 hp over stock.

I am running both springs to hold the boost. It can hold up to 23 psi from my own expereince . I never tried to go any higher than that..

well, it's been tested to hold up to 20 PSI with the larger spring only. no clue what the max of both springs is, but very few people have gotten it to work with 2 springs and no trouble.

I am running buschur's uip hard piping with it. I have yet to stall the car with both springs. I tried one but it would only hold up to 19 psi for me. I run constant 20psi,well try to. Adjustment screw is about 1/4 of the way in.

Thanks for your input guys. Does anyone know if what RRE calls their "kit" is any different than what other shops are doing?? Everyone offers an adapter, but RRE taps a hole and adds a valve in their adapter and run a 3" line from it to the underside of the BOV. What exactly is this for?

SILVER SURFER, please feel free to chime in here....

That bottom inlet is to assist the valve in opening. It goes hooked up to a line that connects to the boost side of the pipes. this gives the boost pressure more surface area to push against the springs and help open the valve. This would probably help make the car run smoother with both springs installed.

I dont see why peole have trouble holding boost with one spring, since silver surfer tested it to hold 20PSI in his garage... maybe theres more of a pressure differential between the manifold and the throttle body.

You want to adjust the threaded adjuster as tight as you can get away with and not get any surge on a light throttle lift. On our shop car, with the lower hose connected we were only able to run 30 psi. By disconecting the lower assist hose we were able to run the max boost on the GReddy turbo at 32 psi.
