Evo 4 to 8 swap - Electrical problems
Swapped an Evo 8 engine in my 4, using a 6 ECU, and I am having a few electrical problems. I have checked that all connectors are tight. I will list the issues I am experiencing, please help with any that you can.
1. CEL on, cannot check because EvoScan says Battery Voltage is 1.873v when I have a charger on it.
2. AYC light on.
3. No odometer.
4. No blower motor.
5. Rad fan always on when engine on.
6. No interior light.

H should search on ecu pin swaps when installing evo 7-8 ecu on a 6.... It should give you a heads up on where to start... Ayc light should not be on , acc fan pins need swapping as well as fuel pump pins.. Good luck
I am using an Evo 6 ECU so all of the pinouts are the same. The ECU was already in the car when I did the swap. I got the engine to start and it runs fine, I just don't want to drive it with an unknown CEL.

My fan is now working fine. I swapped to an 8 ECU once I fixed the fuse. I hadn't even looked at the fan until you mentioned it again but it is in fact working correctly now. Maybe it has something to do with the 6 ECU on an 8 engine/harness
