CP9A Transmission

Hi Guys

I just recently purchased a CP9A Evo 5, and i have a small issue with the transmission.

when i put it into gear i kind of need to force it in, also sometimes putting it in reverse is also hard. when it warms up it kinda ok better than when it is cold.

can someone help with this. could it be a major or a minor issue.

Minor issue would be it needs fluid or a change of fluid. Ive personally been running Amsoil in my 5 with great results. Shifts like butter.

Major issue would be the synchros are bad. A rebuild would be in order.

I would start with fluid. Maybe it cures your problem.

Their Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube 75w90. Synchromesh is not for our trannys.

OP - Clutch drag comes to mind. Change your fluid first then check clutch clearances. You may just luck out with fluid and clutch adjustment. Trans rebuild is starts about $1000.

Well you bought a 2nd hand car! the clutch cover & even the clutch might need replacements.
One main symptom of a worn out clutch cover is not being able to engage reverse easily.
