I doubt it. Your weight is transferred to the back anyway, and there's already an LSD back there.

NO it wouldn't 1/4 mile times. It just transfers power right to left in the turns.

Hey WTZ, thanks for the update. Lime Rock used to be my main local DE/SCCA event track, a long, long, time ago. Beautiful area, really fun course, I miss it.
I was just curious what kind of times you are running and is that with or without the chican at the back uphill section. over 10 years ago some DE events used it some did not, have no idea how that works now.

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,
No chicane. High 1:01's in the Evo. It was cool and the track was green. Times would improve with a grippier surface. For reference, my T-1 vette was high 1:00's. Just got back from the first National at Summit Point. The Swisher Sports/Phoenix T-1 Z06 finished 2nd. !2 T-1 vettes and a big group with 45 cars on track. I ran half the race with the damned traction control on and dropped back as far as 6th before I figured it out. As soon as I turned it off, I started clawing back and with two laps to go I was on the leaders bumper. Just could'nt quite get it done. It was a good first race in the new car.
Cheers,

that I would like to know also....and the process of rebuilding the transfer case....does this solve the problem of all these people blowing them up? I'm not exactly sure what's going out in thet transfer case in all these cases....is it just the front diff or something else? If retrofitting a lsd for the front fixes the transfer case failures I've seen around, I am definitely in for a rebuild. Thanks.

wtz,

Just a suggestion. Take the front calipers off and check the mounting flange on the knuckle for flatness. ie put a straight edge across the mount for the caliper and make sure it is true to the rotor when mounted. (parallel to the rotor).
I have seen some strange brake issues from issues like this. They are after all cast knuckles and are not always flat when compared to rotor mounting.

If having three mechanical LSD's is incompatible with ABS, what about the previous evo generations? They didn't have ACD and yet they still had ABS. Doesn't this disprove the assertion that you need an ACD to run front and rear LSD's with ABS?

The front LSD in my car is a Torsen design, hence it only locks when it senses torque. Under braking it operates essentially as an open differential and is therefore compatible with ABS.

I am aware of that. I guess what I meant to ask is why no one has brought up the fact that the pre VII evos have ABS and front lsd's while lacking ACD at the same time. It should take the wind out of the sails of that argument once and for all. I just wanted to convince the naysayers who refuse to believe that a torsen diff will work with ABS.

like you said the ABS only matters when braking so I agree the arguement is null.
The center diff is still equalizing wheel speeds front to rear and you did not change the gear ration up front. ABS systems are designed to accept up to 5 mph of differential to compensate for turning. Unless you somehow create a drastic differential then it should not matter.
