evo 8 transmission clunky

so i'm not really having much luck finding what i'm looking for

my transmission has felt clunky since day 1
for example getting into first sometimes is chore
getting into reverse is often a chore
both i feel a little more in the "winter" here in california when it is cold
first to second is often a challenge and easier to skip to 3rd
3rd, 4th and 5th seem pretty smooth

i've reported this to the dealer before and they've shrugged it off
is this even worth taking into the dealer before i hit the 10 year/100k mark?

the only mod i have that they could attribute to something like this would be aftermarket wheels but when i first started reporting the issue the car had like less than 10k miles and stock wheels. i could swap before i take it in anyways.

maybe someone has a suggestion on something to make things better?
is the 6spd any better? assuming it can be swapped somewhere down the line?

Mitsubishi transmission are clunky. I have to double pump the clutch before I can get into reverse. I doubt the dealer will do any work on it unless it stops shifting. So, at clutch time send it off to one of the Evo transmission specially shops for rebuilding.

I have a 6 speed Evo 8 and first and reverse are a little tough to get into when it's cold here in NJ. Once I give it a little blip of the throttle it goes in smooth. Also I find once the engine is warmed up after some driving everything smooths out.

I have been experiencing the same issue this past week. The weather has been in the 30's -40's and I've been having such a hard time getting into first and second.

I've just been double clutching and also easing it in.

Would anyone know if getting a transmission fluid flush with BGII fluid would help?

third > 1st
or third > reverse

both seem to make it easier to get into gear

No - try the Mits 6-speed gear oil in your 5-speed.
