kikiturbo,

Matt said that mine was shipped out this last Saturday again and I still haven't received it. I've sent some emails requesting a tracking number, but haven't received that. Could you send me a tracking number and ensure that the acd rebuild kit is on it's way. I still have my fingers crossed that it will arrive today.

I can tell my pump isn't totally shot as on warmer days it starts to work for about a minute. I would like to get it fixed before it gets any more corroded.

Thanks.

got it

Just to update as other monitor their progress. I, the OP, received my kit today, and will have something to work on this weekend perfect. So heads up for anyone else. I didn't receive any emails, but I did receive the kit and tester that I ordered from quick inspection of the package.

Thanks!

Anyone get the tool kit too? Is it necessary?

If not, what tools are required?

The tool kit was developed primarily for the shops that do the repair on a more regular basis. It gives you the opportunity to check pump pressure and really prove that the pump is up to spec after the rebuild. It also makes bleeding easy.

Now, on US cars that have only ACD bleeding the system is not so difficult even without the toolkit so you do not really need it.

As for pump overhaul.. there are no special tools nedeed, just common sense and basic tools... everything is in the video.. One important thing.. if the valve is stuck in any way, and you can not pull it out easily, leave it in.. that is why I include those stickers in the kit, to close off the central part of the pump while you are cleaning the rest.

I ordered the toolkit with the switch box and pressure gauge. I wanted to confirm I had a pump issue before taking it apart, because it looks perfect from the outside (CA car). I went to start on it tonight, but the pressure gauge has a flexible hose extension on it that does not have the correct sized thread for the pump. The plug bolts are all three correct, but the valve is not, its smaller. Do you have any suggestion on what I need or what kind of conversion piece. I would have expected that to fit or the adapter, if necessary, provided.

Since I didn't get any email at purchase I am not holding my breath for support either, so I am realistic about needing to solve it myself. If that is something you can have Matt get sent out, great. If not can you tell me what I need to make that work?

Thanks again

So I got my kit in, but couldn't manage to get the pump apart without it shattering. Some evo x pumps must be set in rather than flush like its posted in the video and there was nothing I could do to get it apart.

So I have a brand new unopened evo x rebuild kit for sale for $200 shipped if anyone is interested. I could use that money after having to shell out way too much for a new pump. Pm me if anyone is interested.

I did the same as you and destroyed my pump but used the rebuild kit anyway when I got a new pump. I'd save it incase you need to rebuild it again in a few years.

Maybe I am still missing a detail, but this doesn't seem the appropriate way to handle a business or its transition. Lets see how the catch up of orders goes, because this also raises the question of any support on the existing products or orders. I am an optimist and love to help small business, individual business, especially when it comes to this hobby, but I did put an order in December for a 500 dollar product and haven't received any communication. That is heading towards three weeks. I'd say I am a pretty patient guy so far. Lets see if they can make up for the blunder.

To maintain the brand and customer loyalty they should probably offer something to the customers that were in limbo during this transition and had to wonder about their money.
Thank you for this. I agree 100%.

It seems everyone is treading lightly and not saying it so I will. I'm not trying to bash them but this is completely unacceptable to me. I had to find out by going on their site and reading the little update. I'm all for giving someone ( or a business) a second chance but come on. At least let people know in a timely manor. We'll I hope their business is well but I will NEVER deal with them.

ive been treading lightly only because ive read good reviews and i was getting quick and helpful emails prior to my order. ive paid $650 for my rebuild end of november/ beginning of december and ive been optimistic since then but now im starting to get worried especially since its past the paypal claim date.. getting a realistic update would be helpful, seems to me everytime i ask whats going on, im told its going to be shipped out that week.

Looks like I will have to wait for the official website to come up before I order.
