Stroker coming together. Opinions

Bottom end is done. 2.3 stroker. Eagle and Weisco parts, 100mm crank. Looks awesome.
Head is being done right now. Need to decide on cams ASAP. Seems that GSC s2 or R2 would be a good choice for what I am looking to do. Street use, daily driver. 400-500 hp. Want quick spool. Not looking to race it. Some people are saying stick with an S1 or similar unless planning to go 500+.
Other part of the equation I haven't picked a turbo yet. Again looking something well suited for my above goals. Been seeing fp red or gt35r recommendations a lot.

I would stick with the S2's or the kelford 272's mated with a FPred. If you want, you can even go for a GTX3076r.

This is pretty spot on. Since I'm a CBRD Fan and have ran their turbos with great success I would suggest a BB-BBK-C. Mine was very responsive and hit 28psi around 4k on the stock bottom end so I can only imagine how it would respond on a 2.3L. But the FP Red or EF3 turbo would work awesome as well.

If your goal is 400-500whp with quickest possible spool and response ...

GSC S2 - Going to a longer duration cam (e.g. R2) will simply hamper spool with no power benefit for your application.

BBK FULL - Perhaps the quickest spooling turbo that will get you squarely within your power target.

FP Red - A little larger than a BBK Full, and also a good option for your power target.

Going to a T3/T4 with open T3 as opposed to a BBK Full or FP Red factory style twinscroll setup will simply hamper spool and transient response, with no power benefit for your application.

Very helpful responses. Good to hear people's experience with different setups. I can't wait to get this thing on the road. I bought it as a project and it's finally taking shape. I think I need to find a set of used S2 cams and a turbo. Still need to buy a clutch disc, oil pump and tensioner too together the motor back together. I was thinking RC hills mitsubishi if I remember correctly is the discount place for oem on the pump & tensioner. I only have 72k on mine but the machine shop is recommending new ones

My build list is basically the same as yours. Am aiming for 550 to 600whp. I went with the s2s... build is to be completed in a week.

I went with a DBB 6262

Agreed. I went with S2 and made awesome power with the HKS 7460 turbo. You're going to love stroking...hahahah

I think I am going with the s2 or kelford. Looking for a used set. Also looking for a used fp red, gtx or similar. I can't wait to finish this car. So if any of you have a line on cams or turbo setup let me know

I recommend the 6 additional degrees of effective duration of the GSC S2 over the Kelford 272 for this particular application. It is better suited toward the reduced R/S ratio of the 2.3.

FYI
