I have a 2006 IX MR and the autozone website says that the correct mobil 1 oil filter is M1-110. but then for a 2003 VIII it says that the correct oil filter is M1-108. what is the difference between the two filters does anyone know?

This is just one study out of many that points out how bad Fram filters really are. Stick with OEM or Mobil 1.

If you want proof yourself, buy a Fram and a Mobil 1 filter, get your hacksaw or dremel, and disassemble. It's easy to see why the Fram is so bad.
Just so you know the Fram filter for the 4g63 is the same as the oem honda filter. Both are made by honeywell, are stamped honeywell and look identical. As far as I know the honda filter does pretty well.

I was just looking at this the other day when I was at Autozone purchasing some unrelated parts. The M1-110 is taller and a bit wider than the M1-108. Seems closer in size to the "original" OEM filter.

Sorry for the thread revival here - just thought everyone should know:

I have a 2004 Evo VIII and the guy at my mitsu dealer gave me the part number for the Oil filter needed for the Evo. It is MZ690072. There are only two different filters that Mitsu uses, this being the "skinnier" of the two. The other one is a fatter one and not called for on the Evo. I believe the part number was said in one of the previous posts and it is part number MZ690116.

You can go to Napa and ask the guys at the counter for a part number.
