I am thinking about selling my evo. Trying to see what I can get for my motor. It will come from vc to oil pan. Motor is on engine stand and never been run. Let me know what price I should ask. Here are specs.

That motor with head is worth a ton of money. 5k is basically what a complete short block costs. Having all additional parts like head valve cover cams and springs and retainers adds a lot to the value.

How much did you pay for it? If it is still new with paperwork from jam and assembled by them then it should not have lost value. Especially if Jam would honor any warranty on build quality.

 

I doubt you will get more then 4500 for it. Call it the cost of building a motor to your specs.....its very hard to find someone who wants EXACTLY what you put in the motor so if they buy yours they may be compromising with what there plans are to get a deal. If i can get a build motor for about 5ish built the way I want there has to be a bit of a of an incentive.

And lets not forget that more and more Evo owners are becoming younger and don't have a lot of money to spend in a lump sum like that.

 

Built short block is around 4K so 5K for complete oil pan to valve cover is insane. I would love to see someone put this kind of setup together for 5K. I wouldn't sell the motor unless it was close to what I have into it. If I end up selling my evo, I would just keep the motor till I can find evo for $2000 lol

I probably have 10K or more into this motor. I put this motor together thinking I will keep my stock motor untouched. This motor was built for 900whp setup. I have every single part to put my car together to make around 900whp. No expense was spared and have best parts money can buy. Headgames head has full ferrera valvetrain which I think is best in industry.

 

I figured. People saying 5k have never built a complete motor without a core. It gets expensive fast.

 

This motor is not for someone who wants to make 400whp. This motor is for someone who wants to make 800whp, have good spool time and still be able to rev to 8500 safely. Only reason I am thinking about selling all of my stuff cause I want to buy a GTR. This is turn key engine without looking for cores.

 

I think you can get 6-7k maybe even 8k if you seperate the head. A headgames head will sell fast, but a JAM shortblock is not as appealing as a ER, Buschur, AMS block.
