Boost Limit?
Boost Limit?
I don't know if this question has already been answered here (I couldn't find anything). I'm trying to figure out how much boost can safely be run on a stock Evo 8 turbo?
These are the upgrades I've got:
Coilpacks from Spoolinup.com
Downpipe
3" Catback
ETS 4" intercooler short route and speed density intake
TiAL Q BOV
Omni 4 Bar MAP
AEM 320 LPH pump
Tuned on 93 and currently running 22psi.
Any advice or personal experiences running 25psi and higher on stock turbo?

I was running 28psi on a stock IX turbo before I upgraded it. The issue with the stock turbo though is it gets to a point where you're no longer boosting and the turbo is just blowing hot air so to speak. But to answer your question on an VIII turbo I would say 26 psi is a good "cap" to stay under/around. Can you boost more? Of course you can, but again you'll be just blowing hot air.
on the 8 turbo you get a few psi above stock then it quite literally runs out of steam. you will still compress air, but in excess of a certain amount it becomes useless. and as most will say dont touch the boost without a tune.
