bringing this thing back to life.
ok so i have been skimming thru this post to see if there's any actual updates/ posts by any of the big trans builders... i havent found anything. that brings me to ask the few people that have already had these installed and run in their evos, to post up any updates that they may have with feedback on these things.

has anyone experienced any issues on them yet?
how many miles do you all have currently on the new synchros ?

thanks in advance for the replies.

We build transmissions in house for mitsubisbi, Subaru, Mazda, Honda, Nissan and have done a few with these and they work. We offer them to everyone that sends is their transmission. One of our customers had problem shifting his 720hp(mustang dyno) Evo before after someone else built it using oe syncros and as soon as we rebuilt it using these, haven't missed a beat. 10.0 @ 149 on real street tires spinning.

My first race with the new trans is this weekend.
Unlimited AWD Time attack car with aero and 305mm super soft slicks.

I'll report back and let you guys know how it does. Old trans would last about half a season before I overheat everything in it. We'll have a cooler hooked up to keep temps down too.

I installed the TRE cover plate, but didn't hook up and oil cooler to it yet.

Wanted to share my experience on these synchros.

I have a 400whp evo 8 myself. Bought the synchros about 6 months ago and had a local shop that specializes in evo's GTR's porsches rebuild my evo 8 transmission with these.

Fast forward about 3 months and for some reason 200 miles into the build, 3rd gear started grinding. took transmission out and replaced the synchro with an OEM one. The carbon synchro was completly burnt up and I figure maybe it was fluke or somekind.

Its been about 2,000 miles now and I grind going into 2nd from 1st gear anywhere above 6K. I figured maybe its my clutch (ACT full face), and I tried adjusting the clutch per Jacks transmissions video. Problem is still there, its actually started to present itself even going into 2nd from third on rev matching anywhere above 4K RPM.

I have not contacted Syncrotech yet when I replaced the 3rd gear since I figured maybe it was a fluke. I will be sending pictures and details of my experience to them as soon as I pull the trans again to see what is up with 2nd gear.

Fluid that gets used is redline cocktail
Car is 90% daily driven
400whp evo 8
I have done about 2 launches on this transmission since the build
All other gears shift perfectly at 8K or 8500 RPM.

thanks for sharing your experience. my friend who rebuilds transmission had warned me that carbon synchro may not last very long from his experience with honda tranny. that's why i didnt jump on it when he rebuild my evo tranny.
