Fuel pump issues please help

Hey guys just installed a new Walbro 255 fuel pump/install kit in my evo 9, after everything was finished I try to start the car and it won't start. After trying at least 6 times it started. Then maybe 3 mins later it dies while at idle. I have researched all over and can't figure out how to solve this issue without just buying another fuel pump. Any insight thank you

The pump isn't seated properly all the way into the hanger. Put an oring on before the white plastic clip thingy and it will fire right up.

I did have an oring where u are saying to put one and it did the same thing as it does now without an o ring. The pump is really snugged into the hanger so I don't think it's the issue. I just ripped it out again took it all apart and cleaned and applied dielectric grease on all the connectors. So I tried something different, I turned my key to accessory mode and waiting for the beeps to stop then I turned the key all the way without stepping on the clutch and I finally heard the pump prime. I started the car and it ran for like 10 mins than died and now it won't start. It starts for maybe half a second then shuts off. And now I can't hear the pump prime either.

Evo 8 and 9 only primes when you are cranking it over. Not on "acc" but you might already know that. 99% of the time what you are describing is the pump isn't seated all the way. If you are positive that's not the issue then a defective pump is all that really leaves to be wrong. Did you put the old pump back in to see what happens???

I'm hoping it's not positioned correctly bc it would make sense that it's not bc after pulling it out and putting it back together it started right up. While it was Idling my fuel pressure was only at 25 psi. Unfortunately I tossed the old one like and idiot bc that would clear some things up

I got it from stm so I don't know how it could maybe be a knock off. Is it possible to be defective?

Take pictures of install? Some other people could probably chime in if they've seen how you've put it in.

Inspect to see if there's anything blocking the port hole on the bottom of the pump...debris, grommet, etc.

check the black cap on the bottom of the reservoir on the hanger. if that makes sense. sometimes they can't hold the pressure.

Did you buy the regular walbro 255 or the one that's "modded" with the relief valve pushed in a little??

I would uninstall and try it all again. if that doesn't work then put in your factory FP and try it that way

OP already stated he threw away the stock pump so that's not an option. I hate to sound like a broken record but I've put enough fuel pumps in to really feel strong about it not being in there good enough. Or like a previous poster said maybe the pump outlet black "cap" is cracked or something.
Also, if the pump is from STM it is not a knock off, the knock off ones are predominantly sold on eBay.
