ninja boost leak

all right so i recently bought an evo an am new to them...i have read and searched but i want to chat with you guys to read opinions about my particular issue...well, i fixed an intercooler pipe which had a leak and after thinking i was good to go i pressurized the system again and i got a big *** leak somewhere...all the air leaks out in maybe 10 - 15 seconds or so depending on how much pressure i put through it...so after about 30 - 45 min messing with this thing i started spraying water around and found bubbles where block and intake manifold meet (gasket) <----- damn...well it was minor bubbles so i kept going because it sounded from the driver side back of the manifold...i checked all of the lines back there and theyre all hooked up and didnt feel any air anywhere...well for some reason i moved the throttle and the hissing completely changed tones...if you open it a little bit it will quiet down and if you open it all the way it will stay the same...now i read that theres some seals or something in there that are a pita to change...ok ok, ill land the plane now...how hard is it to change the manifold on these things and how hard is it really to change the seals in the tb? is there a how to? where can i get the parts i need? i was told by a shop that all evos leak through there and that its not even worth fixing the tb leak...what do you guys think? please enlighten me...

The manifold is fairly easy to change as long as you have the battery removed and upper pipe out of the way. I would say it takes about an hour to remove and put back on, but then again I have removed and installed the intake manifold 5-6 times.

The seals are pretty easy as well, but I have installed those twice. Should take about 30 minutes to do from start to finish.

The shop that told you not to change them is wrong, any boost leak is bad for the turbo. In some instances it can be 20whp+.

thats exactly what i thought...this aint my first rodeo so i know that boost leaks take away from the car...now is there a how to for the seals? intake manifold is pretty self explanatory but i wouldnt mind reading through a how to any ways...i like to learn and be ready...is there any kind of kit to rebuild the tb? i figure if im going to take it apart i might as well install all new seals and gasket...please guide me in the right direction and ill take it from there...thank you...

you will hate the bolts that secure the intake manifold from the bottom

op i have a feeling that its false sound of boost leak from your intake manifold on driver side.it might be tb shaft seals but since tb and driver side im are on the same side it makes impression that its mani.unless you sprayed soapy water on each runner and saw bubbles.gl

well I sprayed water at the connection between head and I'm...the runner closest to the driver side had bubbles...they weren't so bad but they're there...I couldn't see if it was leaking on the bottom for obvious reasons lol...now when I moved the throttle the sound completely changed...at one point it got pretty quiet but still leaking...I already ordered an im gasket...tried to pm one of the milspec guys for the seals and gasket but I got no answer so I'll see what I'll do with that...I won't take it apart till I have everything... got other issues...tcase driveshaft seal is leaking do I'll take care of that first...I will post the results after I do everything and how the car feels when fixed etc...
