Block question.

Is it better to buy my own parts for a 2.3 build and then have a local shop such as English racing put it together for me or should I buy a built 2.3 already done such as Buscher racing 2.3 standard or the 2.3 rpm block?? What's the better route

I think it would be better to buy the parts and have a shop put it together that way you can get what specific parts YOU want

Having done it both ways in other cars i would say the already assembled short block is the way to go. If you buy all the parts then its on you to deal with all the different manufacturers if there is an issue with a part. You may have to have parts machined to fit together properly, and machine work takes forever. Finally the warranty situation is so much simpler when buying a built shortblock. If something fails you have one place to deal with. If you buy all the different parts and one fails and causes issues with all the others good luck getting that resolved.
