I was driving my car and a grinding started coming from my trans. I could only feel it in the foot pedal and not in the shifter at all, and mainly came when down shifting or putting it into first.

As i was trying to limp it home, it popped out of 4th and i lost all gears. No gears grinding or anything, just feels like its an empty space. I hoping its just the linkage or something. Just trying to get a better of idea before i start digging into the car.

I have a 5 speed swap in my car, along with twin disc carbonetic clutch.

Does your shifter feel like no gears are there?

 

It has the official click, when you change gears, i guess you can say. But when you put it in, there is nothing, No grabbing or anything.

 

Does your clutch pedal feel much easier to press now?

 

Clutch pedal feels the same, and you can hear the clutch engage. We checked the shifting linkage and everything works properly. The only thing that is throwing me off is that the clutch isn't grabbing at all. If i burnt it out, i woulda smelt it or something.
