Anyone use gear-based boost control in Tephra V7?
I do. Well, my tuner does. He sets it up to spool as fast as possible in each gear, and then maintain the same boost throughout the rpm range for each gear. So each gear has very similar boost curves, with just quicker spool in the taller gears..
I do as well
The addition to the rom is phenomenal!
The amount of control is great
you can adjust the boost settings for track condition not just over the powerband but for every gear change!
It's great the stock ECU is amazing
Also using NLTS

use it here too. helped dial the car in for the track so i can run a tad more mid range in 3rd to get up and out of corners, and not have a a dangerous load spike in 4th and 5th.
Many a blown engine would have been saved via effectively implemented gear-based or load-based boost control. There is too much of a difference in loading between the lowest and highest gears to optimize performance with a static 'one size fits all' picture. Every turbo setup should have this. Since you have it, don't even think about not using it.
I use it also. For a long time I had it set and it worked great then one day , while doing a spirited 5th gear wot with a wrx, I checked my log and only saw wg pressure in 5th!
Figured out I had the gear calculation wrong the whole time. Make sure to adjust!
