How is it posible to bend valves upon first fire up?

That's what I'm saying. Usually all the valves would be bent if the timing was off.
I just did the leak down about an hour ago.

They should all be squishy. I bent valves on my engine turning the cam to TDC from lifters holding valves open and valve to valve contact. Pistons were all in the middle of the stroke.

Finally pulled the head. No visible marks from valves hitting pistons. Put break part cleaner in the Intake ports and valves are seeping fluid past them.

I found that even more disapointing is the sight of broken valve guides ...

Yeah I guess. I do have all ferrea comp plus SS valves. That would blow if they where bent.
