Hole in Evo IX transfer case

So when pulling my motor we found this. I'm not sure if it was there before or I did it somehow splitting it. I've never driven the car as I got it with the blown engine we just pulled. My question is what's the best way to repair this? It's on the top so just some JBWELD? Or should I take in to get welded?

That looks like the bottom of the hole for the bolt for then tail shaft housing. Likely nothing to worry about.

It shouldn't be there though right? I mean can fluid come out there or could road debris get in through that hole?

If fluid could come out, fluid would already have come out of it. If there is a bolt directly on the other side, it's just the bottom of the bolt hole, and nothing to be worried about.

Ill look on the other side, but i dont think its a bolt hole. Looks like its missing a chunk of aluminum. ha.

I pulled my tcase tonight since it's going off to Shep and took a pic. It has the same hole, right where a bolt is on the other side.

Hey what's up man. My friend had a crack at the bottom of his trany and it was leaking a lot of oil. He put quick steal on it and believe it or not it stoped the leak. Now if you don't have a leak since its on top.I think it should be ok to use quick steal it's 6 bucks at Walmart. Good luck

There is no fluid behind that hole. DO NOT go slopping quick seal crap all over your tcase.

Mine has that hole also, is does not leak from there. That is where they drill the receiver bolt hole. It will not leak from there.
