Well, let me know. I have a new 71HTA CHRA on a used 10.5 housing, with the AP cover, and an HTA Green freshly rebuilt from FP.

Checked my turbo and the wheel feels mint. Can't even feel any left to right play let alone in and out. Spins lovely. Definitely got a boost leak too. Sounds like it's coming from one of the LICP>turbo clamps. Guess I know the first thing to fix. Thanks though.

Score! Awesome news, dude. Next, I'd check couplings for tears. Air blowing through a rip in the material could sound like that too. Maybe a vacuum line?

I guess a boost leak test would be easiest. Either way, what a relief that the turbo is good!

I can hear it coming from down at the bottom of the IC but can't feel it or see any bubbles but the car wasn't on ramps or jacked up so I couldn't see much. Like you said though, at least the turbo is looking good.

haha. I think all Evo owners own one of those tools. I made one too LOL.

I once had the turbo-> j pipe coupling tear. It made a weird noise, like you are saying. Without actually hearing yours, I didn't really think about it until when you mentioned the noise being under the car.
Hopefully swapping a coupling fixes the problem. I like cheap and easy fixes

Yeah cool, nice one. I'm actually well overdue buying the stuff to get my car off the ground a bit. Would you recommend them metal ramp things you drive onto or just a good old trusty jack and stands? At least then I can get under the car a bit and sort issues like this
