Plus I don't think the piston hit that spark plug like it would have if the rod was bent. it melted..

The plug that broke were just put in right before the tune. they had at most 15 miles on them which was the mileage put on driving to the shop before being strapped onto the dyno

Uh-oh. So you had turbo on port #1 and wastegate on port #2? This will cause the boost spike.

After we switched them he said it was good to go and continued to tune it. I would say he did about 6-7 dyno pulls for some reason. car made 408 and he backed it down to 404

While engine is out, make sure there isn't any metal bits in the turbo hotside that can get sucked into the exhaust turbine (just in case). Also check volute for cracks.

Sorry to see such carnage.
When you figure out what direction you want to go I have most of what you need to build a very strong motor here.

Sorry Mike, you're going through the worst thing an owner can experience. If you hooked that up wrong, that's on you. Too bad tuner didn't make sure it was hooked up right before tuning.

It melted but did it all stay on the plug? Or did it drip off and went on its way out the exhaust? And did it harden back to solid somewhere in between bouncing against walls?

You have a lot of decisions to make. Start with figuring out your budget and multiply by 80%. You'll likely exceed it by at least 20% and this will give you 25%.

Wouldn't a similar outcome have happened with the new plugs if it hit the piston? If the rod bent when it spiked and it held up throughout the dyno pulls and up until the next day or if its tune related or both. Im not trying to put a blame on anyone just trying to figure it all out. This is my first evo and first time dealing with anything like this..
