HELP was going about 75 down rt 80

Angry HELP was going about 75 down rt 80

HELP any one have this issue?? i was driveing down rt 80 in NJ going 75 or 80 heard a loud bang or pop and then the engin cut off and lost all power and i was able to roll onto the sholder.. was able to start the enging it started then idoled really ruff then shut back off was able to keep it running really ruff by pumping the gass but its not running basicaly.. any one have any ideals why this happend only has a little over 8k miles on it and its all stock. right now i droped it off at the mitsu dealer but they cant look at it till monday cuz its easter or what ever i just wana know how long im not going to have my car for.

Were you under boost when you heard the pop? It sounds like you popped off an intercooler hose. Not a big deal at all. Keep a screwdriver and some extra hose clamps in your car incase it happens again.

If it was a hose, I bet it was the connector at the throttle body. I had mine pop off 2 or 3 times before I got it to stay.

ok.. hopefully thats it.. would that keep the car from running?? and this a normal occurance??

Yes, that would keep your car from running. If a pipe blow off, the air that is now going to be sucked into the engine won't go through the airflow sensor first, therefore, your engine has no idea what's going on, and it dies. This won't hurt a thing, assuming a bird or some foreign object didn't go into your motor where the hose came off

This is a pretty normal occurance with turbo cars. If you really want to keep hoses from blowing off, get yourself T-Bolt clamps to replace the worm screw clamps that come stock. T-Bolt clamps are a lot beefier and more resistant to coming loose and getting blown off.

THANKS i feel a lot better now.. hehe think i should just go back to the dealer and check the hoses and drive my car home i miss it all ready!

thanks bro im thinkn im going to go back up to the dealer tomarow n check it out couldnt get a car ride back up their tonight ill beg somoene tomarrow bringin a screw driver n a set of wrenches.
