What do you guys recommend for a 1000 hp build crankshaft was looking into a stock stroke 4g63 billet callies crankshaft I heard manly ones crack. Any recommendations would be appreciated.thank you
[QUOTE=2006EvoIXer;11897163]Good luck, there was a lot of discussions on billet Manley cranks. Do a search and find them all. I think Callies are made from same cores but they machine here much better.

For 4 digit power, you're going to want an 88mm stroke. English Racing uses the Eagle forged crank in their 1400whp Drag Evo 8. I'd go that route.
Just keep in mind, nothing is "bullet proof" in 1000hp 4 cylinder.

I would agree with this but like in my case there are things shops will not tell you. Over reving is the main killer with the 4g64 cranks being they arent designed to be high reved hince they crack. The cranks have a natural wabble to them reguardless of how well they are balanced. I have been told this buy a guy who makes crankshafts at a place called moldex crankshafts here in Michigan.
Recenlty from what I see and hear, Callies is the most used crank for high horsepower builds. Manley had some issues especially with the 4th journal but I do not know if they solved it. Also it should be noted that it is reasonable to see more failures than others because it was the most sold crank in contrast with other brands. The last few years Evo owners changed what we actually consider high horsepower engines and went from (800-1000whp) to 1000-1400whp

As one of the few shops running 7's in a CT9a, and almost in the 7's with the X's I think ER has a bit more clout than the average...
Over rev is not the "main" killer. The reality is all the cranks end up cracking at 900-1000whp+ level (Yes, even Winberg) it's just which one lasts longer. Imagine the surprise, ER run's an Eagle forged over a Winberg or something other billet option. It's what they've found to have the best reliability.
