On a negative note, the delco pump pulls -2" on the block at 35psi of boost! See attached video.

So I have the PVC figured out and the issue was the check valve after the vacuum pump. It was a check valve I had sitting on my bench and was used so I pulled it off and thoroughly cleaned it with carb cleaner and a bunch of debris came out. Therefore, the debris was affecting the valve's ability to seal, but that has been fixed. To my surprise the can reads -5" at idle and when cruising it ranges from -3" to -5". When you initially start the car it sits at -2", but then quickly goes to -5". I have attached 3 videos, one of vacuum at idle, one of vacuum during cruise, and one going from cruise to 35psi.

Regarding the car's power, in order to maintain an equivalent AFR I added +5% fuel at 5500rpm and by the time I got to red line that tapered down to +1% of additional fuel. This is based on % changes in the VE table so the car has to be making more power. I took it out again and jammed on it a bit and it definitely feels like it is making more power, but not sure how much. Gonna schedule dyno time ASAP and it will decide this turbo's fate.

I literally just got home from a bicycle ride when I heard the news through my network of car folks. He is fondly remembered by many.

I just saw your post. I posted something in the general forum a little while ago about this. He recently did a cylinder head and 2.2 short block for me. While we were talking in his basement he mentioned how my motor was the same as yours and what good results you had with it. He definitely thought very highly of you, saying that you were one the smartest guys he knows.

it’s just horrible and saddening news.

I took the car out today because it was somewhat cooler and wanted to do a fresh pass like I normally do to see how the VD results compare vs what I posted in my S362 thread. Below is the pass today vs the pass I provided in my other thread just before my dyno session. The car is making about +30hp and lag is ~400rpm. I definitely feel it is faster, but I am also running more boost, no CAT, open dumps and 1deg more timing. I'll make an appt tomorrow for the dyno and we will see what it says.

I have attached videos of how long it takes to pull vacuum on the can after startup and after the car is turned off. System is working like a champ and I was able to dial down the Hobbs Switch to kick on sooner so I am not seeing any positive pressure and pretty much stays in the -2" to -5" range.

I will make a more detailed write up in the dyno section, but results below on Shell 93 pump gas.

The green line shows the previous results with the S362 SX-E
