Evo 8 MR - EGR Solenoid Wiring Harness Plug Issue

I'm working on putting the EGR components back on my car so I can pass NY state emissions but am running into a strange issue with the wiring harness plug. Instead of the oval shaped connector, what I have is one that's similar style to the connector that plugs into an injector (complete with metal clip).

Car has been swapped with a JDM 4G63 but I can't see how that would have anything to do with the wiring harness.

Hoping someone can help with this issue...

I think I've actually got it figured out. The 4G63 swap that was installed must've come from a location where they don't have to worry about EGR. What gives this away is that the throttle body that was on it only had one vac nipple and now the wiring harness that doesn't have the right plug for the EGR solenoid.

Thankfully, the EGR solenoid plug is not part of the main vehicle harness but instead the battery cable sub harness. Thinking that once I get the right sub harness (PN 8524A015) and install it I'll be good to go.
