I actually don't think the pricing is too bad and I live in Mississippi with Mississippi wages Of course I previously had a WRX and a nasty Cusco habit If anything the short block seems a little low...not to give them any ideas

If I seemed to be complaining about RnR in my last post that was not my intention I just purchased a house and have low cash flow at the moment and that affects my judgment on what is "afordable" right now

I was thinking in terms of a rebuild instead of replacement, that is a good price on the short block considering there isn't a core comming from me for that..... and if the head is the same way(the 2,500 includes a new head instead of using my stock one), then $2,500 is an awesom price!

Like I said, now I just need to hit the lottery!

Keith, is does have it's disadvantages owning a shop in Cali especially San Diego where house prices and labor is expensive. We are planning on opening another shop in Idaho where all the manufacturing will be done and we can own a building and labor will be cheaper. We will always have a shop in So Cal because there is a huge import market on the West Coast.

Just an example, I just bought a house in San Diego where the median house price is like $492,000. It cost a lot to live here and the overhead is a lot for the shop, but it is worth it.

Holy Crap! If you spend that kind of money on a house around here you are getting a Mansion! Then again average income level is around $7.00 an hour and people think I am a rich man because I make $30.00 an hour!

Just giving you guys a recent update.

542whp and 615ft lbs of torque at 28-30psi.

This was on the Dyno Dynamics Dyno we use. We were shocked at the torque the car made. It feels crazy fast on the street and there is absolutely no lag with the biggest GT35R we can find. Hopefully we will be able to make the 3 events coming up. We are getting full boost by 3800rpm. The craziest thing is this is still my daily driver. I absolutely love driving the car. I take my 4 month old son to Daycare in it everyday. Pretty crazy to think about driving a 600hp car everyday, running errons and driving the family around. We have a couple other car, but I just love driving the EVO.

We ran out of time to finish tuning and to raise the boost. We plan on making it back to the dyno for some serious horsepower. We expect an easy 600whp on this dyno.

Damn, take that thing to the track already! Trap 140+, take the race gas out, do methanol injection and make that same power on everyday pump gas.

Now THAT'LL be sweet.

Youre getting a little happy on the injection. Just remember methanol or water injection is no replacement for race fuel. There have been many people that have had engine failure on water injection because something went wrong, especially when there was no failsafe put in place.

We have a gas station that has 110 at the pump. We usually fill it up with that instead of risking the motor on 91 **** octane.

Can we see the chart? I'd like to see the torque curve.

Building a proper water injection system takes about as much time and effort as a proper fuel system so that all safeguards are in place just in case something happens. You can't just slap a pressure switch, tap into your IC spray tank, pour methanol in there and pray.

Name one person that you know of that killed his motor because of methanol injection and not lack of foresight.

Yep, things can go wrong, but as long as you put enough failsafes in, you'll be fine running pump gas with cheapass methanol injection.

Or you can pay 9 bucks a gallon for C-16. Your call.

Methanol injection is a saftey for increased boost not a replacement for race gas. When I go race Ill put the c16 in. As I said before there is no replacement for real race fuel, ask any professional auto tuner out there especially the ones that build race vehicles. Im not going to argue any longer this is Ryans thread.

Quite impressive... I'd like to see the plot also... graphed against rpm. I don't put a lot of stock in the numbers... but the "curves" are quite telling.

I will see if I can get the graphs up here. We only got a few dyno pulls so nothing is really dialed in yet, but the numbers are impressive for such little tuning. The charts are still with DSPORT Mag as we are going to be the NOV issue.

I forgot to ask... what level of boost were you running?

110 octane right?
