RnR 2.4 EVO 8

Well, guys we finally got our car running with the new 4G64 2.4 Block in our EVO 8. It was on Monday that we finally got to drive the car after a few minor set backs. Much thanks goes out to the guys at RRS service for all their help and building a sweet motor. This things feels really torquey and powerful downlow. The 2.4 makes so much more usueable power even with the big turbo that is on it.

We are are expecting to get full boost by 3400rpm with our GT35R Kit w/Equal Length Manifold and .82AR. This is down from 4600-5000rpm with the regular 2.0. The .82 which we don't normally sell to anyone with a stock motor because it lags way to much. With the new bigger motor is will be no problem at all.

Our powerband in the car will be great for a daily driver. 3000rpm-9,000rpm is awesome for a daily driver that can push 450-500whp on pump and 600-650whp on race gas(well that is what we expect). No dyno numbers yet as we only have 50 miles on the new motor.

I will post up some pics of the set up later. It feels so nice to be able to drive a car with a huge turbo and have virtually no lag. It gets full boost better than a stock turbo car because there is more torque.

We had to fabricate a few custom parts to make it work, but it was well worth the work. We will be selling a motor kit in the near future including everything you need to bolt-on this monster motor. It will include

4G64 EVO motor
fully built internals
adapter plates, brackets, etc
etc,etc.

Let me know what you guys think of the project and hopefully I will be able to give you SoCal guys a ride so you can feel the power for yourself.

Pictures?
9,000RPM on a 2.4? That's much higher than what I have heard is safe?

RnR, I am really pleased for you guys. It is great to hear that the have got the whole thing in and working. We need to get as much info on this as pos as this could be the evolution (pardon to pun) of strokers for the Evo. As everyone has already said pics, specs and anything else that you can give us will be cool. Be nice to see how it compares to some of the strokers out there (in both price and performance).

All the best, Chris.

What does tentative pricing look like? What, if any, are the benefits of getting a brand new engine with more displacement, as opposed to just getting a new crankshaft. Is it cheaper, or easier to get a 2.4 block, than it is to just stroke the 2.0 block? Also, do they sell stroker kits for the 2.4 4G64. If so, could you stroke that engine out to maybe 2.8 - 3.0L?

Talking

I am going to get the pics up in a couple hours. My batteries in the camera went dead yesterday. We are real busy over here with all the work and orders you guys have been giving us.

I will also answer all the questions and give you guys a ballpark figure of what it is going to cost.

Does the 4G64 block have the oil squirters from the factory or did you add them yourselves?

what is the 4g64 compression ratio? doesn't that regulate how much boost you can put on the engine?
