It's not a Galant bottom end. It's a lot more involved then just throwing pistons in there. We make a couple adapter plates to make it work correctly.

"We are are expecting to get full boost by 3400rpm with our GT35R Kit w/Equal Length Manifold and .82AR. This is down from 4600-5000rpm with the regular 2.0. The .82 which we don't normally sell to anyone with a stock motor because it lags way to much. With the new bigger motor is will be no problem at all"

Ryan, while we can appreciate your enthusiasm for bringing a new product to the evo8 market. Do you think you could be a little more realistic on your claims? The 2.4 stroker is nothing new to the DSM seen. I have built a half dozen stroker motors myself. I have seen the before and after affect on turbo spool. In short the strokers spool the turbo about 3-400rpm faster.

Switching from .63 to an .82 slows spool about 4-500rpm.

Can anyone do the math here?

We are just excited to bring something new to the EVO's. I know it has been done in DSM's many many times. The big difference here is the EVO layout is completely different than the DSM. So finding the right block and making it work was the fun part.

Most stroker kits are 2.2 or 2.3 so this is a little different animal. I have always heard since way back in the day that strokers were dropping spool by 800-1000rpm. Also that most kits were producing 50hp and 100ftlbs more.

Also did you run those 10's on pump gas? That is crazy.

I do remember Marco saying that back in the day. I think that adage holds most true on LARGE turbo setups. I also think low 3k is a bit optimistic. I have a slightly larger turbine wheel on my turbo than you do (T350 vs gt30) and I am seeing full boost in the high 3s low 4s.

He is the pump gas king. I did 126 in my pretty much full weight Talon but he absolutely killed that in his car.

Holy moly, a 2.4 stroker? Now SRT-4 guys have nothing on us (as if they did in the first place; die FWD!!!). I love your new exhuast system RnR, can you give us specs and sound clips anytime soon? Great job with everything so far..you have really improved every aspect of your business..hoping to be a future customer once I actually have a car to work with .

rdrkt, I have read a lot about your car in the past on various boards. I believe you are using an FP3065 which is similar to our turbo set up. Main difference is the turbine housing size and equal length manifold vs. ported cast. Even 126mph is crazy on pump.Something that probably would never be capable of an a stock ECU. Do you have any recent pics of your car? I would love to see some pics.

We are hoping for full boost around mid 3,000rpm. We will see once we get the EMS on there and fully tuned.I just like the fact that on my daily driver I can run a large turbo and not had to worry about it effecting driveability.

Mitchubishi, I am glad you like the new exhaust we are releasing. It so such a clean look on the EVO. We will be posting sound clips of pretty soon. We really have changed the whole way we run the business. We took some contructive criticism and made some major changes. We were always just short handed in the past.

Ok, what exactly is a 4G64 and how is it different from a 4G63? I thought that the only difference was a .03 higher deck, but that is hearsay, so I do know. Is the bore bigger? Are you using the crank out of the Evo or is it a dedicated 4G64 crank? Do not get me wrong, I am not trying to copy what you have done, for the price I would much rather buy a turn key short block rather then screw with it a f**k something up, but could you stroke the 4G64 to get more diplacement or has it already been done?

Hell, send me one, the hoist is in my garage just waiting to do the swap!! Actually, if I did put the 2.4 in I would want to do the head as well, more displacement could use more flow. If you wanted someone to mimic just the normal short block swap however......I guess I could be convinced to do just that.

I would suggest doing some head work at the same time. A simple port and polish will go a long way.

I am sure someone has stroked the 2.4 motor before, but then you won't be able to rev as high either. I think Marco has a done a 2.5 in a DSM before, but I am not positive. I guess it's a trade off with everything.

We could have put longer rods in the motor, but then there is a little reliability issues with moving the pins higher. So we left it alone and probably won't mess with it. The crank we used was out of the donor 2.4 block.

joeycoates or Malibujack, if you are really serious about getting one of these in your car then let me know and we will work something out.

I have a couple of questions for you: Did you keep the balance shafts in place or did you remove them? Did you really fabricate an oil squirter system for the 4G64 block you are using? When will this block be available?

Great job guys. Im glad to see you are putting more R&D into your Evo products and are running your place more like BR. I live in SoCal and going through you would be more convenient for me when I am ready (plus you guys have a price advantage). Keep up the good work.
