Boost gauge problem

Anyone out there ever have any problems with their Defi- D boost gauge. When the car is cold, everything works fine. After driving the car and parking it, starting it again a few minutes later, I don't read any vaccum? I read boost just fine, butno vaccum at all. After driving it a couple of minutes, the vaccum side of the gauge starts working. Pulled the car into the garage, let it cool down for about an hour tried it again, and everything works fine. Checked all the connections and everything was good. Any suggestions. Could the vaccum line from defi be collapsing on itself from the heat?85-95 outside.

It sucks doesn't it, you wonder what is going on with your car! I just don't know if it is the gauge, or the vaccum tubing.

Where did you tap the vacuum for the guage ???
This sounds like another persons problem when they tapped the line betwwen the FPR and the solenoid.
Vacuum comes and goes as the solenoid turns on and off.
The fix was to tap between the solenoid and the manifold.

Probably not your problem as you can read boost but not vac.

Thats where I put it, but why is it that it only happens when it is hot outside?

Definitly sounds like it was tapped in the wrong place. Mine used to do the same exact thing before I changed it.

The best place to tap is the short line coming off the top of the left side of the intake manifold before the seloniod, but if thats where you already have it, it has to be a guage problem.

Well, I went outside, started my car listen when I started it up, and then "click" I heard the solenoid pop and then it started working. I guess I need to relocate the fitting. Thanks guys.

Well guys, thanks for the suggestion, just went home and swapped it to the manifold before the solenoid. Seems to be working more resposively. I always had wondered on startup why the gauge took a second to run vaccum. Oh well, thanks alot for the help much appreciated.
