Question Fluttering with turbo xs RFL BOV ???

Sorry but I tried searching and did not find anything. With those of you who have turbo xs RFL are you experiencing any fluttering under part throttle? I have the turbo RFL bov but recirculating it back to the mas pipe. No more stalling but the problem now is on highway in 5th gear. If I floor it halfway I can see boost going to 20psi but the car flutters as if the bov is opening and closing and sometimes this causes the check engine light to turn on. If I go full throttle it's okay. I reset the ECU and the CEL goes away.

Is this bad for the turbo and do I need to add more washers? Recommendations? Looks like I need to go back to the crushed 1g bov for now.

Thks.

i had the same fluttering. it really didnt bother me that much because after i knew how to reproduce the noise i just let off the gas completely instead of partial throttle. Now that I have te buschur upper intercooler piping i have the 1G DV and it is SOOO smooth. I really like this valve, but the noise isnt as cool. but i dont really care, as long as it runs smooth.

How many washers do you have in the BOV?

Thanks. Glad to hear I'm not an outcast. I really like this BOV because the turbo seems to spool faster and the car seems to pull stronger. The fluttering at partial thottle just sucks. I hope this fluttering is not causing any harm to the turbo since I'm recircuiting the BOV now.

I also have the 1g (crushed) and the driveability is great. The car doesn't seem to pull as hard though. This could be do to the fact that I custom dynoflash with the turbo xs RFL VTA and will need to retune with a reciculating bov.

Currently no washers.

So no fluttering for you? I had a hard time taking the horn out so I had to weld a pipe to the horn (wish I didn't. Now I can't use the horn anymore). If you can unscrew the horn out and I suggest going to a pipe store and have them cut a small pipe and thread it like the horn to fit the bov.

Vletnguyen you will need to ask AL but I was under the assumption it would. When I switch to the 1g bov I did notice that the car does not pull as hard.

Can anyone confirm whether the fluttering is bad for the turbo??

I'll take your word about the fluttering being okay on the turbo. I'm okay with the fluttering when the gas pedal is left off but it also flutters when you floor the gas pedal halfway and not WOT. Sounds like the BOV is opening and closing. The CEL sometimes come on do to this flutter.

go ahead and get the Turbosmart Dual Port. It is fully adjustable by hand (no washers needed) and won't throw a code or upset your car.
