evo over zo6 anyday. There small, its a domestic, a few mods and you smoke one.

 

you realize that a bone stock z06 can hit 11's down to the stock tires??

it would take a few mods for the evo to "smoke it" unless you're referring to smoking a weak driver or a 50 year old man driving his weekend cruiser

plain and simple, the z06 is a better car for a road course or the drag strip...but of course, the price is a big difference too

i didn't real through all 7 pages of this thread, but i'm willing to bet a lot of the same bullsh1t i see on this forum has popped up and a bunch of misinformed people probably contributed along with their ignorance

for the price, you guys think that an evo is great, until you realize the z06's specs and abilities at it's respective price

look at the z06's specs and tell me what other car "cheaper" car comes close to that, and then look at how expensive the cars above it are for similar performance

the whole "spend the difference in mods" argument is soooo lame and ricer talk....the same could be said about ANY car

you don't hear many vette guys say "why buy a viper or ferrari when you can spend the difference in mods and spank those" ?

 

yes. zo6 is a better sports car than an evolution in all competitive aspect.


modded or not. period.

buy a used one. that's the best way to go.

you'll need a seat though. the GM has some seriously shltty interior parts.

anyone says EVo's a better car than the z06, you're either dumb fu ck or just ignorant as all hell and haven't driven one, raced one with a good driver, and haven't seen what it could do. Possibilities are limitless.

if Evo FQ400 is a lambo killer at $90,000, then z06 is a ferrari and lambo killer at $50,000.

seriously, i browse on several forums of different cars, and i can say for a fact that i find the most misinformed people on the evo boards.....most people have the evo so far up their a$$ they don't know where it went. they have to realize that yes, an evo is an awesome car for the price, but there are better cars out there for the price (even though a z06 is more expensive than an evo, it's even more of a bargain if you compare it's performance and competitors, which sadly the evo is not a compettitor in stock form...plus you don't hear vette guys use the money difference in mods excuse to smoke s7's and mclarens)..........the evo was not laid down by god himself on the 8th day as a car to end all cars

 

if you're real smart, you'll get the viper instead of z06. Viper will eat up z06 modded or stock.

Not many people know that Vipers could handle great, even better than evo, if you know how to drive.

I hope everyone know that RWD drives better than AWD. This is a tested fact. Not only RWD is a lot safer than AWD, but with the right driver, it could drive a lot better than Front wheel based AWD like the EVO.

On the other hand, if you have something like Boxer setup , like STI or RWD based AWD like GT-R, then you'll be basically benefitting from RWD platform along with Awd.

 

Z06's are great cars... especially for something american made... but it's not the end all car either... it too has it's downsides...

but, lets talk about this "modding" thing... it's a "RICER" mentality to say "well, i'll just throw this on, and this, and be set"...? grow up... it's run what you brung... i want my car to be better, and for the money i saved buying this car, i put a fraction of that into some real performance quality parts and own other cars... You can tell me, well take that stuff off and come back and talk, and i'll tell you to go f@ck yourself and mod your car then come back and talk to me... I'm not taking i.e. an Ohlins suspension and other minor bolt-ons off to appease you... There's a difference between tuners and ricers... Tuners actually put said parts on their car and love it... ricers just talk steam... you don't like it, well go to the coffee shop and talk to the car and driver foggies stock for stock hessian speak...

And i beg to differ here... we all know what Evo is capable with "MINOR" bolt-ons... and this is on a ROAD COURSE... not a drag strip... and plus you can drive it year round with the baby seat in the back with some groceries that you're taking to the shore with you on vacation with your family when you're done... and for a 1/4 of what you saved by buying this instead...

To each their own though, and don't get me wrong... i respect Z06's for what they are, and that america sometimes remembers that the road turns... but it isn't the END all God SEND that ppl that say "these Evo owners are ignorant" think it is...

the new Z sounds good though... even though you're looking at even bigger bucks than the difference in the cars before... dealer markups and such, you're looking at a $70K Chevy...

 

only thing i have to say is GAS PRICES man, think about that before anything.

 

What will GAS PRICES tell him? I don't think our MPG is any better than a Vette. They aren't bad for v8s.

 

what will they tell him? lets see its about 27 bucks to fill my evo up and about how much to fill a V8? do the math its half the price to fill an evo up as it is to fill a vette up. but hey if you got money like that then more power to ya.

 

I averaged 30 MPG our 400 miles in my C5. If you are worried about it, you can get great mileage in a vette, ridiculously geared 6-speeds are wonderful things.

 

The evo made some laps out of their mouths, and back up their @sses

Do the math? What math? The only way it would cost twice as much to fill up a vette is if it had a 28-gallon gas tank, and even then it wouldn't matter, because the Vette would just go TWICE AS FAR before filling up again. What you said makes no sense. The only thing that matter is miles per gallon, and the Vette is very close to the Evo in that regard.
