Thumbs down

I would never make that trade because for the most part as an evo owner you a performance enthusiast. I like how pretty much all the owners can relate to one another and rarely just drive by without giving a thumbs up.. I dont see every vette owner doing that, and while they have corvette clubs is not like the majority of owners are out there. I cant even think of how many posers drive that car. I dont care if the car can outperform the evo when only 1/25 vette drivers can even drive the car properly.. or would ever take it to the track. The other factor is the confidence inspiring feel of the evo. With a pro driver the z06 will be far superior.. but for the average joe driver, the evo may be way faster.. better road feel, better turn in, you can push it harder in the turns. If the z06 is so technically superior why did they all get owned in last years open track challenge by an evo? To me if your saying this car is so vastly superior then it shouldnt be losing every raise by a good margain to such a lesser car. the zr1 still is way better car then the current z06.

Wow, this thread has been resurrected

As of now, I am still having a blast with the Evo. The Z06 plans are on the back burner for the time being as I'm still enjoying my car. The weather has been pretty wet around here lately as well and its been nice to still hit full boost and not have to worry about wheel spin (well, at least once out of 1st gear).

As for the fuel mileage argument, the corvettes actually get almost 30 mpg on the hwy in 6th if you treat them correctly.....my Evo gets about 25 mpg @ 80.

I think you would enjoy the Z06, but be warned/advised: Vette's are a dime a dozen. Your resale value will be less than the Evo and you will see other vettes all the time...(harder to stand out)

p.s. If you get it, your first mods should be Heads, Cam, Headers, and SLP Loudmouth exhaust...makes a HUGE difference.

oh yeah, p.s.s.... I got my butt handed to me today twice by a Z06. I dont think he was stock though.

GET THE C6 ZO6 . That's gonna be a great car. But still wont have the fast steering or agility of the Evo. Trust me on that one. The C5 ZO6.... I still would not get it. I rather perfer my e46 M3. Hell man give me the new 997 Porsche 911 . ...hmmm.. now that's what I need to save for. C5 Zo6...no way. It's all about driver feel the Americans still don't have that down yet...save the Ford GT.

The Z06 is a great performance machine, but hard to compare to the Evo because they are 2 totaly different cars, on one hand you have a car that can be drivin year round and is easily capable on 400 4whp with stock internals, and on the other hand you have your seasonal car that has 400 hp out of the box and is capable of 500 RWHP with minor tunning and bolt ons...2 different power bands, its all about what you like to drive (a buck a piece)

The Z06 is just such a big car to me. It's difficult to back up and park.
