Just drove an MR today.
...guess the suspension and dv make that much of a difference in the MR compared to the GSR... it's def not the wheels and roof though as it weights in nearly the same as the gsr due to the 6-spd i'm assuming (though there is a slight performance gain from unsprung weight of the wheels)...
if the mr was available when i bought my 03 then i would have gotten it. but no way in hell would i ever consider trading my 03 for an MR or even for a 05 gsr. i love my evo for what it is and with the money already spent in mods it is not worth it to trade for the same car. plus the usdm MR is so skimp. no jdm headlights or taillights.

The six speed tranny is ULTRA smooth and im still breaking the MR in so I havent stomped on it but I dont think I will see a bit of difference in speed its just the smoothness of the car that makes me drool. When I say smoothness im talking about the way she drives.
One way to discribe how it made me feel

Your explanation seems just about right on to me. I have an '03 which is basically stock and my dad traded his '03 for a '05 MR and the MR definitely does have much better response for some reason. We can't really figure out exactly what it is, but we think it is just the combination of the upgrades. Regardless, the MR is a better car than the '03s, but probably not worth the trade unless you have the extra money.
