How many have had blown HID bulbs?
My car is seldonly driven especially at nights but to my surprise about a month ago
I when out and had to return at night. After following a car accompanying me, they noticed that I had a low beam light out. I checked and had no blown fuses but since I had schedule time to take care of my recall, I had them check out my blown lamp. They said the bulb was blown and had to order it. I still have less than 3k miles on my car and think I had less than 5 Hrs total of driving with lights on and now it has me wondering how reliable are these Lights on our evos.

I'm trying to get a similar problem fixed- the left headlight turns on and flickers for 1-2 seconds and then goes off. Before the flickering and turning off, it had a pink hue and reduced brightness for a couple of night drives. I think it's the headlight control module in my case, but I don't want to leave the car at the dealership for the 2 days they are saying it will take to fix. I guess I'm going to live with one headlight until I can convince the service dept to do it in one day. I've read about others with the same problem, but it seems that the dealership just wants to play stupid and make my life difficult.

In your case, why are they saying it's just the bulb? The bulbs are supposed to be good for many hours.
I'd like to reiterate
. My service dept sucks!
Please post if you have any experience with this HID reliability issue!

I've experienced this in the past with my Sti. I had an HID go out so I ordered a new one. The bulb didn't fix it so I bought a used ballast. The ballast fixed it but then a few weeks later the same thing happened again.
I then switched the old ballast back in and now it works. I later found out that the ballast seal was leaking and allowing moisture to enter the ballast. Whenever it dried out it started working again as normal.
