For everyone that ask about the evo MR power you may want to read this thread about my MR.

I pulled 225 whp on dyno dynamic dyno *Stock* (GSR's are pulling around 205 whp) On dynojet it would = about 250-260ish..
The amazing part about the MR is on shoot out mode (absolute flywheel hp) It pulled 282 fhp which in turn would = 290 flywheel hp!!!! thats a big jump from what mitsu claims (276 fhp)
thank you

MR costs more from dealership orginally than regular evo,
but the evo engine is vary from car to car, i have seen ppl making 236whp just with the catback on evo, and some only make 192whp stock,
you pay more, should get more hp, if you make less whp than gsr evo, you should sell the car,
but the main concern is the handling improved than GSR, power wise, it's easy to make more than MR with the price tag difference between MR and GSR.
congrate!

Well look at it this way 225MR and 205GSR 2003 that’s 20WHP. These 20WHP are there because a larger turbo hot side and ECU tuning. When we tune the GSR 2003 just from ECU around ($400) they start making 230WHP and up. Now MR is about $6K more than GSR and only 20 WHP ahead which can be made with ECU tuning. Now the story is completely different when the 2005 GSR is here as they are putting same number as the MR. I would go with the RS in a heart beat if I did not have an EVO. I like the MR but I believe it’s just too much $$ when I can get the RS for $27K. Anyways, to each his own and good luck.
in the end same engine and almost same turbo. MR only advantage is the 6 speed which many think is over kill on the track.

ex)
tru and with the extra money you spend on an MR you could have had a regular evo thats much better then the MR. only thing is it would void your warrenty, not like mitsu hold's to their warrenty tho

to each his own i would never think of trading in my evo for an MR, i like the 5 speed and i like the fact that i got the first year of evo's that came to the states, and furthermore i would rather buy a 05 GSR and spent the money buying aftermarket stuff i wanted like buying JIC suspension instead of blienstien(spelling)
