Generally a rear wiper button would not be a push button. It would be a 3 way switch. Up would turn on the wiper, down would be wash/wiper. middle would be off (duh).

Maybe they wont have a wash option, but that would be dumb.

I am thouroughly confused on this topic cause even in this article it says MMC let them drive to basically get comments and suggestions before the release. I also saw he said he prefererred it without the AYC but didn't say the same about the ACD. I'm just going to keep reading and maybe something will give us all some info before the launch.

Actually, I think it could be a rear wiper button. Because in my 3000GT, the rear wiper button looks just like that. It's a one piece button, if you push the top part of the button, it's regular wiper, push the lower part it wipes at a slower interval, if you push in the button in the middle, it washes. But lets just hope that the button in the picture is a more important button than just a wiper button...

Adding fuel to the fire: If you read the translated specs on japanvehicles.com, you'll notice that ACD is STANDARD on the RS, with Super-AYC (lol) being an option. At the very least we can maybe hope for a swap?

Yes, ACD is a standard, but it also comes with the helical front LSD, which is a standard option too!

It's not the windshield washer, because my 6 month old montero for example, has the rear and front wiper control built into the same stick. The Eclipse's rear windshield viper is right above the a/c controls, you press the button in to spray, flip it up and it will be intermittent, flip it down and it will be continous and it's off when it's in center position. That has to be a dummy button, because my eclipse has a dummy button or two, same with my montero and my vr4.
