Can somebody translate it? After looking at it again, it does appear the front tire could have blown. With that much time going sideways, it is very likely that happened. The frame held up pretty good considering the second time over it landed right on the roof.

I just watched that vid, holy crap. I will tell you, I HAVE ROLLED ON TRACK BEFORE, but only one roll, and it was the scariest feeling in the world. I had no injuries due to the helmet and harness, but the car was totalled.

My question is: IS THE DRIVER OKAY? That was freaky. I was getting chills just watching that video. He was pushing it rather hard, doing an awful lot of drifting. Was probably losing a lot of rubber and who knows what the tire pressure was, probably got to hot and popped/torn and lost ground on the track and BAM yer toasty. I could not believe that video, that's just darn scary. I'm sure he could get around the track for civilized. And the sad part is, it looked like just lapping sessions, not a real race. What a waste

It looked like that driver walked away and that was she as well (or a very long haired guy!).

You can make it do that with the K2 ECU for the ACD (talking about the Evo 7 here), but that's like $1000
I bought the K2 ECU for less than $500 new. Haven't received it yet. MUCH less than $1000 !!!!

regarding the video here is what happened.

the first few times around is the father driving. they purposely put cheap as$ low grip tires to make it drift better.

if you notice they slow down the video in a few areas. like when he goes off road and get a tire off.

later one with his daughter driving (yes the driver that wrecked it was a woman) the tire came off the bead thus she was not able to go around the right hand turn.

the driver and the passenger are both okay. that is all I know.

automatic clutch disengagement, its for people that cant drive a stickshift but want the EVO anyway, it prevents you from stalling the car at traffic lights and missing shifts and such...

ehhh

not really

it actually stands for "a cool doohicky", it hides under the car and with it you can adjust which wheels spin first

Now THIS is a thread, people!! It all started out so innocently...with some poor bastard trying like hell to claim he had an inside scoop on the evo...that's the little acd button, ya know! They been hiding it from us! ...sneeking it in at the last minute!.
Immediately, he is fericiously ignored by the hordes of us who know that the button is something else...and without even a "by your leave" the arguments over what it actually IS ignite. Noone even wastes a typed word to relate that the guy who started the whole thread is without a clue.
The theories abound...occasionally, some poor straggler actually tries to believe that the button is really for ACD...at which point a brilliant "no, it's really for time warp" highlights the idiocy of that idea
Oh my God, I was rolling. But then we have the masses finally adding more and more salve to the wounds of those of us lamenting the loss of the acd ... Now acd sucks and really the cars without it handle much better... just watch the videos and it's obvious!! (of course the entire suspension of the Cusco car is redone ... obvious if you just look at the roll ... the paint jobs have more in common than the suspensions of those two!!
But Hey! That PROVES IT!!!
Then we get somebody showing how your going to DIE if you have the dreaded acd...poor french girlie...if only the acd hadn't screwed her up... I thought I was watching a snuff film when the sad music revved up and the ambulance made its appearance.
So, I guess we learned that acd and females don't mix....or is it females and evos...no, no...the moral is: don't let your daughter drive your evo.
But the grand finale...and I have to give a bow to his wit (for those of you who may have not caught it...MrAWD has been around this forum a long time and he is being facetious in writing "What is ACD??" ) MrAWD summarized fully the complete lack of any useful info in this entire thread and SpikeLS1 topped it off with the whipped cream. "automatic clutch disengagement" and adjusting which wheels spin first.
This is the best thread ever I'm submitting it to the Cannes Film Festival. You guys are HILLARIOUS!!!

What is MyCre8n Evlshn?

Most of the guys who OWN evos say they like a good mechanical better than ACD. Dinesh hinted that he missed the ACD, but that was comparing ACD to the viscous unit that's supposedly on the US spec EVO. I myself would like ACD (actually, I only really care about the tarmac setting) or a mechanical center diff.

I'm assuming that you want to submit this thread to Cannes because a lot of it entails fiction...but how does that make it worthy of Cannes? Not an exact analogy, I think.

No, no, altvalet! On the contrary!! I'm just not all that adept at making anything clear a lot of the time. The Cannes Film comment was directed at the wit that this group has. True, I doubted the validity of the vids demonstrating that mech diffs are better. Still do. But this thread has actually made me seriously doubt what I had previously thought: that the ACD and AYC were the handling magic of the evo. Now I'm starting to wonder if you're not right. I guess I fully overstepped in saying that there was no useful info in this thread. Honestly, I really am starting to think that you "mech diff is better" guys may well be right. Still...you gotta admit that watching gymkhana of different evos doesn't exactly qualify as scientific evidence of the mech diff advantage.
I wouldn't pass up all this banter for anything and am really grateful for all who throw up the vids (of COURSE I downloaded 'em!!) and throw in their two cents...whatever it is.
My 2cents has always been of very low informative yield. I just had to give applause to all the nonsense 'cuz I for one LOVE all the BSing and speculation. Don't forget the predictions of specs based on weight analyses...that was right up there too!!!
Good job sticking it to me...I definitely deserved a slam for that...but I've been all stuck on this ACD/AYC "necessity" and now
I'm just trying to catch up.

Yeah, that was wrong to say. There actually is a bunch of useful discussion in here. I just get such a kick outta the stuff we get into...who else would argue what a button is for like we do??
