It's not the windshield washer, because my 6 month old montero for example, has the rear and front wiper control built into the same stick. The Eclipse's rear windshield viper is right above the a/c controls, you press the button in to spray, flip it up and it will be intermittent, flip it down and it will be continous and it's off when it's in center position. That has to be a dummy button, because my eclipse has a dummy button or two, same with my montero and my vr4.

I'm sorry but mitsu is not holding for the STI...some of the evo are already made by now...if they are gonna be here by febuary. Why would they change it now....like said before...it's a little late to wait for the competition

It is not. It's got a small, roundish icon that has what looks to be either wavy lines or radiating lines from it.

And that means it's the foglight button. If you don't believe me, go look at a 2G Eclipse (and probably other Mitsu products) and you'll see exactly what Paul is describing. It's on the left side of the steering wheel and it turns the foglights on and off.

Let me tell you: it wont be slower or if it is slightly slower, then that's because of a slight weight increase, that's all.
An Evo 6 has no ACD, an Evo 7 does. They both need the exact same time on the Nürburgring driven by the same professionnal driver. Surely that means they have the same performance?
However, not having ACD means there is no ACD that can break. Which it could after your warranty has expired. Same goes for the AYC, which isnt going to be present on the Lancer Evolution.
The less BS you have on your car, the less can break. As simple as that.
FYI, a friend of mine in the UK broke his ACD unit. It cost him two thousand dollars, yes, you read that right, to fix. Be happy you arent getting it
