see where there is no green? that's where i went through, sideways and backwards. i didn't want to let a mustang cut in and he did anyway, caught me off gaurd, i went into a drift, and the driver front went on some pebbles, and my car did a counterclockwise spin into the bushes. i ended up on the other side, half in the bushes. my bumper was scratched, my intercooler damaged, the whole undertray needs to be replaced, and there are dings all over the passenger doors, and the side skirt is all scratched,- Freak accident, but after all that, my suspension is absolutely perfect.

Your 'responsibility' in this part should be a lessoned learned that you should not do it. In that case... you haven't learned anything and you sying you're going to do it regardless means... you don't care about anyone else.
That's my take on it.

Whatta buncha BS. Take some responsibility for your own actions. I totaled a nice car on a racertack. I don't blame anyone but me for the careless misjudgment I made going around a turn too fast and apexing to early.

god damn, sam.
good to know everything's ok............ jeezus christ.
our suspension is superior. those damn japanese people who ticked away with their little axe picks to get our hardware to where it is, took everything into consideration when designing our suspension. from positioning, bolt placement, and even angles of the solid foundation which keeps us together.
yay-yuh!!!!!!
btw, im asian so stfu.

not laughing at your mishap.

It was a safety concern that although the course was designed with it being dry in mind, when it's wet, someone with bald r-compounds (they're almost all bald, no?) can hit something 2x the 'required safe' distance away.
I would think it be common sense that r-compounds not be allowed when it's cold.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody at that event even suggested that anybody reconsider a decision to run R compounds.
Think your missing the point
He says himself - "I was running on Rs which was a lot worse than the advans on ice"
Ice and snow are a far cry from rain.
Everyone knows that the advans are rubbish on snow and ice, yet the driver chose to use a tire which he knew was worse than that. The ground was supposedly covered in snow at the days beginning.
If the guy can afford all these new cars, perhaps he should buy a new TV instead and check the weather forcast sometime.

First, I am very glad no one got hurt, especially the person in the potty.
But what happened to all the people that constantly state "take it to the track, don't experiment on the street"?
This individual took it to the track to experiment. I would not run R's in the snow, but to each his own. I'd rather have people make mistakes at an Auto-x than on the street with a lot more potential of hurting others.
The guy even admitted it was his fault - he is not blaming anyone but himself. So is all that bashing really warranted? Give the guy a little credit for using a proper location for his experimenting/learning as opposed to being stupid on the streets.
Also, in a competative environment people do experiment to get an edge over the competitors. It is not always the right choice, but you learn from it and could win/or do wrose because of it. If all race car/rally drivers always made the right choices and never pushed past the limit, then you would never see any accidents in racing - but we know that is not the case.

Now, This is the one day that I did not bring a set of wheel and tires with me (I will not take that chance again). But for you to sit here and judge what the f*ck I do, is unwarranted. I know that everyone is trying to be cool and trying to give me advice. Those who wants to bash, I could give a rat's a** about your opinion and comment. YOU WERE NOT THERE. Once again I traveled close to two hundred miles for that event and I was not going to sit it out just because I did not have the proper tires on. I know that I would not have the grip, I wanted to have fun nevertheless in a controlled environment.
The TV statement, I'll take as you trying to get some cool points for been funny: HAHAHAHA I'm dying laughing.

Here's the real deal... if someone of a higher authority at the event told you you couldn't run on them, and you did anyways... the guys hospital bill should be coming out of your pocket and not the clubs insurance. And not your ins. company... they shouldn't cover 'racing' expendatures/claims. I have it in writing, from your post, that you 'don't take no for an answer'.
And people wonder why solo fees go up... and insurance for the club rises because one or two asshats LIKE YOU decide they're better than COMMON SENSE.
Just an FYI.. someone in the club HAS been notified of this thread. Your attitude that you're better than everyone else (because you will do the same thing in the cold next event) has no place at an auto-x.

1. No one told me I was not suppose to run on Rs.
2. you're escalating this to something that it is not (read I was having fun that is what the event was all about).
3. I'm well capable of covering the guy's hospital bill should the need arise (doesn;t phase me. I'm glad that he is fine and that was the only thing bothering me at).
4. Please do not judge me as you don't know anything about me. You're taking the information posted here in the wrong context.
5. I'm not an asshat like you claim and always followed the rules (This is not my first auto-x and won't be my last).
6. You're not being a hero

One final point, if the club needs money for the hospital bill, YOU messenger boy can tell them
that I'm more than happy to fork out the money.
