How do I know what fuel pump is which?
I purchased my evo from a dealer and it had a few mods on it.. I will be getting it dynoflashed within a week or two, but I am finding new things on the car first etc. Anyways, my question was can I just take off the back seat and pop out the fuel pump to see what kind it is(seeing if it is stock or not) or will I actually need to disconnect it etc... All I need to do is get a good look at the fuel pump.. but I was wondering if I could do this without disconnecting it... Will it be obvious if it is the stock pump or an aftermarket?? thanks in advance guys
you wont be able to pull the unit out without disconnecting the lines(electrical, feed, etc.)but its very easy to do, then you could tell looking at the unit with the pump still intact basically the walbro will be silverish and the stocker will be army green or black
This is going to sound a little ghetto...but...start the car somewhere where it's quiet. If you hear a buzzzzz coming from under the rear seat (driver side) then good chance there is an aftermarket pump in there. The stock pump is very quiet...my Walbro is significantly louder than stock. I can hear it from the driver seat when the radio is off and the car is idling.
or you could pull the pump assembly out and look at it.
