2005 Evo8 Tranny Woes
Get a lawer have him type up paper work saying you claiming against the dealership for the ****ty work. Take it to the manager in person, chances are they will give the work on your car another shot rather than dealing with legal issues. I had this wonk on my civic. Car had crack in paint on hood (was a 2000 si). Dealership repainted car and it got tin specks of black in the red paint, Very had to see but it was there. I told dealership and they were like well somethmes things like this happen and they would not redo it,when to manager he told me same ****. Got a lawer, cost about $150 and he said if it did not work that i would pay nothing. I the paper I was going to submit to manager at dealer, and a day later my car got repainted. This time flawless. Just cause the company is bigger than you does not mean they are right. Another one that worked for me was when a tire shop dicked up my rim on the tire machine on my evo. They said i was SOL, I wrote an add for the local paper saying never take your car here cause of blah blah blah and even a made a few business cards with the damage pics to put up around town. I took i them all in and showed the manager, he ordered a new rim on the spot. I picked it up the following week from the dealership. I never complete any of the threats and we were all good.

update: Well the damage is pretty bad. Seems that the rear bearing (???) fell off and toor up the bell housing??? Now they are requesting a new tranny so lets see what happens with this. I'll post up once I hear. Now at least I know they really cant rebuilt it again so either I get a new tranny or they screw me over. time will tell...
If they are replacing the entire tranny, the mitsu service rep will have to come out and approve the work. You might be screwed with your mods. While you might be able to slip it by the dealer when they are doing a couple internal replacement parts, its gonna be a lot more difficult getting all those power mods past the regional rep. Good luck, but you might be SOL on warranty now.
O well, its prolly expected anyway. Heck, if I were the service rep, theres no way I would let your car be warrantied for this problem. You might have some leverage if the dealer messed up, but you might not.
Again, good luck.

as far as your mods go, im sure they are fine if you go to another dealerships. just to let you know, mitsubishi is having this gathering in california where all the tricked out evo owners meet up and show off their cars. Again this is sponsored by Mitsubishi motor. I think its called " MODS"

Well they screwed me, told me coincidently two tech reps came in today for a surprise visit and saw my car and took my vin down and said it better not be a warranty claim. So the service manager told me there is nothing he can do for me. i'm picking up my car tomorrow with the tranny in a box. I'm definitely going to attempt to sue the dealer and try for lemon law. I'll keep updates
