I know there has already been a lot of talk on this already. Displacement does mean something, although people on here say it doesnt, it is the fact that its only .5 displacement this isnt a huge gap. The engine has potential but cant live up to that without good internals.

And as for the WRX being more stout, thats only because it has less power and less agressive tuning. Its still just as crappy on the inside as the STI. Like i said the engines are great designs, its the parts used that make them the way they are.

The STi has a stronger block (semi-closed deck) vs. the WRX's open deck. The STi also has stronger internals (either forged or hypereutectic, depending upon where you look).

Subaru would never make the STi look like that. I didn't like the looks of the current STi that much, and they just completely ruined it.

Jeez, how may times.........that's just a photoshop.

No one knows exactly what the '06 will look like. Latest rumours are that the launch may have been pushed back because of internal "debate" over the proposed cosmetic redesign. No one will know for sure until official photos are released.

Finally. Someone with some common sense.

This is more likely for the next gen Impreza, IMO. From:

The hatchback is supposedly the ground-up (total) re-design due for a 2007 JDM launch....possibly with a new name (not Impreza).

The '06 USDM STi is rumoured to be just a cosmetic facelift of the current STi.....no one knows what it will actually look like or what other (non-superficial) upgrades it will have. Possibly due to arrive here in the Fall...........maybe later.

That's a subtle distinction for most of the STi-haters on here......just thought I'd "clarify" for anyone who's interested

the evo engine will be more mod friendly. Plus the way the STi's engine is mounted, it makes for a more difficult upgrading experience. They don't take well to larger turbos as well as the evo. The 4g63 is way more bulletproof than the STi engine will ever be...those are the facts. STi has a nice resale value though
