HELP: Low boost problems
I can't get my car to run over 11 psi. I have a Defi Boost guage and have ruled that out because I tried three different hook-ups.
I DO NOT HAVE A MBC or EBC.
I bought the car used from Ebay and it runs great. However....it's running low boost.
Is this probably from a Vacuum leak? How do I get this checked out?
Where should I begin to look for a leak?
I think that the previous owner may have had an MBC. Could he have turned the boost down and then removed the MBC leaving the low boost level?
Any help would be greatly appreciated..

youre definitely getting a leak on your evo.mbc's just control boost and once taken off the boost is controlled by the ecu again and ogesback to stock setting.look around the pipings with using a small squirt of simple green sprayed on it.check if theyre all tightened down even the lower ic piping area and the bov section.

i had that problem before, it was multiple problems, for one, IF the previous owner had a MBC, he might've put back the old lines but forgot the boost pill on the compressor side (theres 2 pills, 1 near the boost solenoid and 1 in the line that runs from the tee to the compressor nipple. check that, also check ur BOV, IC pipes, i'd suggest replacing them with T Bolt clamps all around and if u can, the entire IC piping or just the soft part of it with samco's hoses. My problem was the compressor side pill was missing, BOV was leaking, and 2 parts of the IC piping had leaks.

A missing pill is most likely your problem. Go to Mitsubishi and get the stock boost hoses unless you are going to get a MBC any ways. When you hook up the MBC you don’t need the pills any more. Here in CA it was $22 and the T Bolt clamps definitely won’t hurt.
