Selling STi/Buying EVO ---Theft Issue
all sti's have a chip in the key so if they are getting stolen, there is a fraud suby dealer giving out keys because there is no way to bypass it. I'm sure if there have been some stolen insurance companies are already looking into it becuase its a big deal when a car with chip gets stolen.

Heres what I would do, sometype of engine managment system where it shuts the ecu down so its impossible to make it run. And I would go and spend 500 bucks and have a lojack installed on the car that way if it is stolen the car and be imediately tracked. A nice alarm will help I would add two sirens to make it louder and you can add a pizo siren that installs inside the car put it up under the dash so they cant bare the sound. All thats just a deterent ofcours they could flatbed it away. Theres also a sensor you can get for dei alarms, viper/ pthon samething just different name the sensors reads elevation so if the car is title or anything it would go off. hope that might help

a kill switch shouldn't cost more then 15 dollars. if your going to use a fuel pump kill, just buy a 12VDC automotive relay (10 dollars tops) and a two position switch (5 dollars tops). you break the power wire between the ECU fuel pump controller (most likely a relay) and the pump, and you tap your relay betweenthe two. next you attach your two position switch to an ACC+ and to the coil turn-on on the newly installed relay. if you want a diagram when i get out of work i'll sketch one up quickly, but honestly it is very easy.
I used to work for a car stereo shop and when we installed alarms into cars we gave people an option as a secret immobilizer. Believe it or not, but you can actually do something silly as having to push in the cigarrette lighter in in order to start your car, so if you have it out with you, there is no way to start it. Or you can do something like having to buckle up before starting it, or having to turn on your windshield wipers or a turn signal.
Believe it or not, but these things work and we did them for like 45-60 bucks. Check with a reputable stereo shop locally to do that. I used to work for Car Toys in Washington.

this is actually great. I had a friend who had this type of kill switch (on ignition). You had to turn on the headlights and push 1 other button, can't remember which. He dropped the car of at a pay parking lot and forgot to tell the attendant. He couldnt move the car and was a bit pissed when my friend got back to pick it up.
