That's sounds pretty close to stock to me. A catback doesn't make you hellafast, but if you keep working on it he won't be able to keep up.

**edit (went back and read a little :P)

So now people are idiots for not downshifting? This board keeps getting better and better (i.e. 'You should be embarrased...', et. al.)

My favorite thing is when people use poor grammar when calling someone else an idiot.

Comparing with the numbers your sig says I'm very close to stock . However, stock EVO VIII's ('03-'04) put down 190~200 whp on DD dyno..... MR's put down 220~225 whp on DD dyno. I put down arounf 15% more power than a stock MR or 29% more power than a stock EVO VIII ('03-'04)......... For you it's probably nothing, but in my book a 15% to 30% increase of power is significant......

evos are not invincible, they are tough to beat though if driven correctly...i have trouble pulling away from civics and integras doing exactly what you did (stepping on it while cruising in 5th), but if I downshift, it's bye bye.

I really doubt that anyone has said that STI's are slow, stock they have a bit more horsepower and although they are not as mod friendly as an evo they can still pack a punch. I think what u hear is from people who dont know how to drive thier cars. No i dont have a STI but u got to give credit where credit is due.

I think people are finally figuring out how to get a lot of power out of that newer engine...

This thread is pointless... You didn't race an sti. You spead up in your highest gear and he stayed behind you. WOW!

257 whp in 6th gear going from 55mph... I think you'd lose to just about anything, he was probably pissed you were going so slow... I'd be in 4th... Oh, and the STi does NOT have 300whp on ANY dyno, whoever said that should be shot
On the same dyno I did 207/215 stock, an STi did 238/248... Now on that same dyno I'm doing 272/268 Which is about a Stage 2 COBB STi minus a good deal of torque (277/316) on the same dyno (COBB's Mustang Dyno)
