STI turbos su*K and why are we argueing over an STI

Yeah, I know what you mean . What's so funny is to see all these bashers with the "idiot", "stupid" and other ignorant comments. I guess it's time to get rid of the EVO, it looks like all the second hand EVO teenager owners have joined the forum

Some ask what was I thinking?... Well, I was thinking "I wonder if I can drop this guy by stepping on the loud pedal"....... I guess that was not the case

I don't think STis are slow, I guess I was being a little sarcastric there... After all, no one other than Al Friedman himself calls them "Slowbarus" and such.

Someone else said that he had trouble pulling away from civics under those conditions (55~60 mph, high gear)... Well, I've easily pulled away from many so-called sports cars or sporty cars under those same conditions.
I merely conducted an experiment and found out some interesting facts. Only one fact was the apparent decent power of the STi. The more interesting yet disappointing fact is the generally low apparent intelligence of so many posters. Some of you guys are pretty good readers and have intelligence to match. Lamentably, there seems to be a large number of barely literate and obviously socially challenged individuals. Too bad they drive EVOs, they are making the rest of us look bad

 

if it was stock... What I'm trying to explain is that this guy put down 257 (or whatever) at the WHEELS on a stingy dyno, and the STi is 300HP at the FLYWHEEL... In other words, your comparison of his stated HP with the STi's "300" hp is apples to watermelons. And the 199 # is for a stock Grand Prix (at the wheels). If you have more than that due to mods, good for you, but why waste your $$$?

im not the one thinkn he can pull on a sti in 6th gear from 55mph with a cat back exaust ... might be harsh but come on if you know ur evo at all you want to pull or try to pull on somone with a car thats the same or more hp ya gota down shift and know how to drive. maken a nother thread like this? ur going to get flamed end of story.

 

this reminds me of the ending of the top gear test of the MR FQ400 vs Lambo vid. where they race in the top gear from thirty. Thats always the best way to test ur car and the cars around you.

I don't see how thats embarassing? He didn't shift, and he just pushed his foot down, I don't think anybody can do that better then someone else. So if you feel like your gangster foot would have done better in that situation without downshifting then you go ahead and try it.

 

Also, could he have been drafting a little bit? (If this has been said, I didn't read the entire thread)
