I know a guy in SD that has 03 EVO that has 8000 miles and he pay $500 a month to drive the car 4000 miles a year
Yeah I thought about this too... my friend on here says he cant wait to get a beater so he can have the EVO sit in the garage . I cant see paying 30k+ and then pay for another car, and spend all the time in your crappy one!

Damn man, Im 21, I have an incredible car that most kids my age cant afford and Im gonna drive it every second I can. Surely not going to pay out my *** for it and let it sit. If I was in my 30s and my other car was a $30k+ car, then Id consider it but that isnt how it is.

BTW my 2005 has 13,500 miles on it as of today. Ive more than enjoyed all of them!

If you start tracking your Evo regularly, as I do mine, It won't bother you at all to have a daily driver. Mine is a 96 Subaru Legacy GT wagon, and personally, I enjoy the comfort, ease, and quiet of driving it. Going all out on the track at least once a month satisfies my need for high speed thrills...so, to each their own!

I bought my Evo for racing and that is what I use it for. Maybe because I am old and don't feel the need to impress other people with my car, I have no problem driving my beater 1990 Nissan pickup to work every day.
Also I am a freak about keeping my car clean and not driving it to work makes that a whole lot easier. If I am not racing on the weekend I still go hit a mountain road or two to enjoy my car.
I have a 2003 with 9000 miles on it but I spent 7 months of that time in Iraq.

03 with 13k miles. I love this damn car!

Ditto. I've had my '03 for 1.2 years now. I love driving it, but with the gas prices always fluctuating, there are times I have to be conservative.

I have 13k in 10 months on mine and enjoy more then yesterday or the day before that, etc... I would never take advantage of such a beautiful machine. I even sit through traffic for an hour+ a day and it doesn't get uncomfortable. and my mods make it drive much smoother. no stalling or anything. ofcourse I don't have that many mods to hurt drivability.

It's funny, cuz I can really see all the guys that want to keep it clean, and just use it for track races (no offense, but especially the older guys) leaving it in their garage and driving a beater... and then my dad drives his S2000 every freaking chance he gets

Totally agree. Bought mine Sept. '03, now have 14k. My work is absolutely filthy, so I drive my 4x4 ranger. It's also nice to have for the snow. Once my garage goes up it'll sit even more in the winter, instead of seeing it everyday, begging to be driven.

I've had my 03 for 2 years, racked up 45k miles.
I have a 100 mile round trip to work each day. I thought about getting a beater, but the Evo is too much fun in the twisty, 2 lane country roads I drive. I only go through 6 stoplights during the whole trip, 4 of them are after the exit ramp.

My drive would be miserable w/o the Evo. I don't mind racking up the miles, or going through 2 tanks of gas because i just enjoy driving the car.
Honestly, I enjoy my 2 hour commute each day :-)

I agree with most on here. It's only fun if you get to drive the car. That's why you bought it.....to drive it. Daily Driver almost 2 years and 26 thousand miles and stock clutch. Love every minute of it. Wouldn't trade it for anything......unless it is another evo. my back up car......is my wife's evo
