Bought my 04 with 3500 miles on it Feb. 22nd. It now has 9200 miles on it. Most from long are from long trips though. It is hard to let it sit, I bought it to drive it.

I've had a daily driver since I bought my Evo in March of 04. I still managed to put 23k miles on it since then, and even if I did drive it to work, my commute is 4.2 miles each way This car was built to be driven, I drive it every opportunity I get.

I was reading this and I cant resist tosing in my 2 cents:

Well I guess it is how it would fit your lifestyle. There are some who buys the Evo simply as a collectors item and barely use it. Some would want to race it, or some would want to brag how much their pockets can hold cash. But one thing for sure, why buy an Evo if you will not drive it over 100mph!? I bought my first Evo (Evo 6) and it was with me for 2 years but it only ran 18k km. I would use it only at night or on sundays for our funruns in the circuit. So as my other friends with Evos. We would run them over 200kph on our "mini-autobahn" in the Philippines.

So it depends on every Evo owner. But one thing is for sure. No matter how he uses it, to the owner, it is worth every cent buying the Evo.

03 with 20k in about 22 months. Other than a trip to CO, most of those miles are just cruising around as I take the train to work

I agree that a nice car should be driven but........
Then again, your resale value is much higher, so when the EVO IX comes out, your depreciation gap is not as large and you can get the next new car.

I for one have had my car since March 04' and have put only 13k miles on it. I used to drive it more.......

But I have 3 tickets now and I am regulating myself by driving my beater.

Think about this for a second......

If all of us who had EVO's drove them everyday, you everyday drivers of EVO's wouldn't get the cool ooh's and ahhh's you get becaus they would be seen more in public.

Let's just say we are "preserving" the breed...... LoL

i agree with your snoop, it's pointless to sit the evo in the garage, i have my 05 MR for about little bit more than 2 months now and i have almost 4000 on it already... i enjoy every minute of it too, i just need a quieter exhaust tho... any suggestions???

Yes - Evos are indeed meant to be driven, which is a stark contrast to the cars that are meant to sit in a garage untouched. Those cars generally come without an engine, seats or wheels.

Again, it depends on you. Some people would rather just want it being used only on weekends coz they keep it as a collectors item. Some do wanna rule the streets and of course the strip, and some perhaps would want a special weekend or nightout car.

And as I had said before, to every Evo owner, no matter how much they use or not use it, to them, the car is worth every cent. It all depends on them
