Over sticker? Will you walk??
Are you really a car salesperson?
Yeah, I guess I am!! You have no idea how much of a car salesman I am GP....You really have no idea. But that's okay!
I really don't care! I know for a fact that you are fairly new in the industry, or learned the rudiments from the wrong people..
I really hope you don't post any replies to this post...
I am content with ending our conversations on MSRP now.
If I had known that you would challenge me, I wouldn't have posted! I have tried to be objective, and constructive to boot..
You on the other hand.
Sell like hell!!

1. car salesmen
2. people who are actually paying over list to get a car
people get real, this is a car, everyday some guys in japan make a whole lotta them, its no big deal, if you dont get one this month wait til next month. You hear alot of hype, people willing to pay thousands over etc. well most people in this world are b.s. artists, when the time comes to put up or shut up, the real buyers are few and far between, this isnt exactly a cheap car and if you want one , don't worry you'll get one at msrp, or wait til this fall i'm sure it'll be less than msrp, look at the wrx when it first came out, the hype the gouging, etc, now let talk not msrp but invoice, patience is a virtue, i believe in the laws of supply and demand and capitalism, however in this case charging more than msrp is gouging and in the long run it is a poor strategy and one that MMA should oppose
You are rigth Dark Knight. My advice to all the guys and gals who are going to buy now. try to cut a good deal.
For example when I purchase my lancer OZ I paid or finance $16,748. I know people that paid less than that for a OZ, BUT I get a real good deal on the extended warranty, interes, and 0 (nada) down payment and my monthly payments less than $400.00.
So, Try tu cut someting you will like to buy and no someting they try to sell to you! Or like GPTourer said, If you have the green to spend or throw around, Just go to the next Mitsubishi show room and buy one at any price.
And enjoy the thrill

We will just have to wait and see.

According to Sport Compact Car Magazine this month,
will be making as many Evolutions as they can sell!
Bottom line.....if you want one, you will get one, and at the price you want as well (MSRP and even less). It's just a matter of time!
Way to go

I agree with you 100% dark knight....
When the Subaru WRX came out....they planned to only make and sell 10,000 units and ended up selling over 18,000 if that tells you anything!
The initial production numbers I have seen mentioned for the EVO in a couple of different sources are 6000-6500. I know to take what magazines say with a grain of salt (sometimes a whole container
), but given the above, and
apparent market strategies, it would make perfect sense for them to make as many as they can sell.
Besides, just because one plant has a certain "nominal" production capacity doesn't mean that they can't ramp it up or have another plant take up the slack.
Again..... GO

Lancer Cedia is the platform of the Evo 7 & 8 and since the Cedia is a mass production car, I don`t think is a problem for
to build the amount of cars to comply on demand. And remember something
knows that we in U.S. where specting an Evo for a long time. And finaly when
can put them on U.S. territory, I don`t think it will be in limited numbers.
That's exactly what Subaru originally told me about "limited numbers of production"... That's why I received mine in the first shipment.. But now look, there's a million of them sitting on the lot and Subaru is having a hard time selling them now.. That's according to a good friend of mine that said they're having bad times selling... Go figure, I'm not paying over sticker... Not me, no way..
Wow, talk about some big posts with alot of quoting...
My first post in a while...
My input is.. I plan on looking into the EVO in 2years. The reason... my lancer finance is only a 3 year 0 intrest. I figure by then ill have fatter pockets and be able to afford the Evo on my own and by then the price will be moderate. Look at the WRX.. I know someone who paid close to 27k for the WRX upon release... and recently my other friend got one for 23 fully loaded.....thats all i know...I just hope the same goes for the Evo..I'm in no rush to get one....

Yesterday I got a call from my Mitsu dealer. They told me they will have the car in 2 weeks and that the price was 33k. I told them forget it I am not paying over MSRP. When I said that he started backing up and asked me to give him a deposit and he promise me that he will do whatever it takes to sell me one at MSRP. I told him no deposit call me when the car gets there. He said ok.
Hmmm if the car is so popular why is this guy calling me and trying to get a deposit from me. Dont they think they are going to sell all the cars they get the same day they get it. Hmmm I think not.
I think I am getting and EVO.

IF i were you i'd put a deposit written with vin, Sell at MSRP, and manager's signature to ensure price. Depending on where you live the car might be sold to someone else or traded to a differnt dealer where evo's are more popular?
